I introduce myself

Por Don Quixote - July 5th, 2007, 11:33, Category: Entrepreneurship

The whole idea behind this blog is that we would like to create a web 2.0 start-up company in the next months. This blog will help us to organize our ideas, to exchange ideas with other people and about all to make us trust ourselves and believe in our project.

In this entrepreneurial expedition, I am not traveling alone but have a fellow traveler, which will introduce himself later in this blog.

Please let me introduce myself:

I am a 27 years old Spanish national living in Hong Kong (China).  Since 2006, I work for a French multinational company as IT project coordinator for Asia-Pacific so I usually travel to different cities and countries in the region and, in particular, China.

Before taking this position, I used to work in Paris (France) in the R&D Department of a well known French telecom operator (2004-2006), where I was involved in Web applications for WiFi environments. I worked first in a developer position and then in a project management position.

I studied Telecom Engineering (BSc and MSc) in my home city, Bilbao (Spain) and in Karlsruhe (Germany). During my studies in Germany, I spent some time as a trainee in a German telecom operator in Bonn and in an American telecom equipment manufacturer in Nuremberg.

For the last years, I have always being traveling from one country to another. As I result of this international exposure, I am trilingual English-French-Spanish, fluent in German and conversational in Chinese. But above all, my living abroad has given me a global vision of the world and a sense of tolerance. This global feeling is an essential part of me. I cannot imagine myself without being a global citizen.

I have always being looking for challenges. I have never being happy with easy or routine situations. I have always being looking for challenge. I always prefer to be average among the best than best among the average. This is probably why deep in my soul there is need for entrepreneurship.

Of course I am afraid of losing what my savings and well-off life as an expatriate in Hong Kong. Of course I am afraid of being an average wannabe entrepreneur and not managing to achieve any result. However I will never forgive myself if I do not try it. This is why I some times compare myself with Don Quixote (Spanish literature), the old crazy man who saw giants where there were only mills.

Whether this risk will make me the person I want to be, only Don Quixote might know. Future is fuzzy. It has always being like this.
